Young Lucille Ball in her 1930s

Here's a rare color picture of young and beautiful Lucy in her early 20s, years before meeting the love of her life. Her hair was still blond/brunette and she was still finding that Lucille Ball style.
It took MGM's best hairdressers to help Lucille find the style that she would stick to for the next 20 years or so- flaming auburn hair, all swept up, with a curled fringe. After being so surprised and grateful for being filmed so beautifully in her first MGM's musical comedy, Du Barry was a Lady, the hairstyle became her signature!

Lucille Ball in Color!

Here's a treat for ardent Lucille Ball fans, Lucy in color!
I was asked by one beloved Instagram follower on what I am going to do on Lucille's birthday, 6th August. It's an interesting question, and I guess I'll just be spamming pictures of her on Instagram and this blog for followers' and readers' pleasure. Maybe I'll re-watch all her old movies and reread her old books again! I can't be watching I Love Lucy because I'm already doing it almost daily!

What about you?

Technicolor Tessie

Lucille Ball was nicknamed Technicolor Tessie because of her flamboyant coloring: fair skin, bright red hair and baby blue eyes.

She was just so breathtakingly beautiful.

Color Video

(Recycled)
Here's my first fan video of Lucille Ball! The videos have been gotten from A Home Video (for entertainment purposes only) but the pictures are rare!

I hope Lucy fans out there enjoy it:
Technically, this isn't really my first. I've created fan videos of her but because the files are too huge, I cannot upload them on YouTube.

The Bluest Eyes

Here's young Lucille Ball in an advert for Max Factor, I think.

Lucille sure had the bluest eyes in the world!

I'm so partial towards her red lips, red hair and red nails. Have I mentioned it before already?

Meet The People

Meet The People is a WWII patriotic film, featuring Lucille Ball as a glamorous actress, and Dick Powell as an wartime employee in a shipyard.

This picture's taken circa 1943.
She looked nowhere near 33 years of age. In fact, she looked like as if she was 25! This is why people say that she can be cast in shows where the character is 10 years younger than her.

My Organizer

I've just created an organizer and I've pasted Lucille Ball's photographs and quotes all over. This task has caused me to reread Desi Arnaz's and Lucille Ball's autobiography again.

She has the loveliest eyes in the world!
They remain as my favorite couple.
The first time that I read Lucy too had an affair came as a shock to me. It was disturbing. After some time, I figured that she was probably trying to convince herself that she still had that charm that made Desi fall in love with her 19 years ago. Or maybe, she wanted to make Desi jealous. Or maybe, she needed to release the tension? After all, they began sleeping in separate bedrooms during the filming of the Comedy Hours.

Anyway, Desi wasn't clear about that part about the matchstick at all. Things remain ambiguous, and the secret's buried forever.

This is a case at hand where love can remain after so many nasty things had happened between them, more evidently so after their divorce, where they both maintained that they were the greatest loves ever.

Technicolor Tessie

Back in the old days, having color on the screen was a big thing. Actors' skin tone, hair color, eye color were all important. Today, we can utilize special cosmetics and technology to tweak the lighting and contrasts to make the actors look more flattering. "What you see is what you get" rings true back in the golden era of Hollywood.

Lucille Ball's skin tone and eye color were a cameraman's dream, according to LIFE. Her beautiful red hair also complemented her and the blending of all the bright colors into harmony pleasing to the viewer's eye earned her the nickname Technicolor Tessie. Not everyone can look well in vivid colors, but Lucy sure did.

I wish that I Love Lucy would be colorized. It's perfect in black and white, but I just love Lucy's dresses and I want to look at them with color! Good news: Fans who love to watch Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball in colored action could try watching a movie starring the both of them- which they were so proud of- called The Long, Long Trailer.
The movie was important to them because Desi had never wanted anything so much than to star in a movie with Lucille. For more than 10 years in their marriage, both Desi and Lucy had campaigned to the movie makers that they would be a success in the movies. It meant the public's acceptance of them as a couple. He need not have worried- they were the public's favorite couple, and still are!
Hell, their bickering and fights were all so adorable!
